Street Georges started as a musical vehicle to release some Reggae Soul music on an unsuspecting public. The project had a few false starts by then drummer Richard Beckmannflay. Early in 2018 after some many months of not being able to locate a singer, guitarist or bass player, Richard just picked up Guitar and Vocals and started busking around Auckland and then testing songs at a few Auckland Open-Mic gigs, sometimes accompanied by Mike Beck on a percussion and Ema Barton on backing vocals.
The song “Running Free” had good street appeal, so recording got underway at Red Wine Studios in Kingsland, a studio run by Kiko Bass player Windon Bradfield, he played bass, keys and did the engineering. Produced by Nathan Judd, mastered at Munki Studios by Mike Gibson
